Happy 2019! We made it!! Dust off 2018, it’s no longer a part of us. Let that shit go, we’re not fucking around anymore. This is an exciting year, the year I turn 30 and yes i’m excited about that one, I have a bucket list for this haha, the year I feel most of us will do exactly what we’re meant to do on this planet. Ok let’s get into this, it’s a new year but some of us aren’t feeling the whole “New Year, New Me” motto, I’ve noticed we are wanting to redefine our “New Me” phase. Every new year I use to set high expectations, a wild New Year Resolutions but it got overwhelming to think of this time around. After 2018, the shit I went through personally, mentally and everything i’ve manifested up to now. I had to be very kind to myself and say, “it’s a New Year but take care of the goals I’ve set in the past couple years or so.” Does anyone else feel that way? Have any of you started a project or a venture and all of the sudden life happened and you had to stop?
I’ve had the same goal of making something out of myself more than just your typical “I want to own a business, be healthy and be successful.” for a very long time. I want to make an establishment, build a foundation, truly be in the present of building that foundation and truly take care of myself and my loved ones. I want to have the finances for myself, my family and friends when in need, it’s bigger than myself now. For example, I started Shop Cali Rose four years ago as a eco friendly, sustainable boutique. Over time, meeting vendors, designers, other small businesses, it became a mission for me to want save the planet in some way or form, yes thinking big picture here. However, I know my help starts with baby steps, small motions to get the ball rolling. Starts with education, learning everything I can do possible as an individual and business owner and how to educate others.
I want to help and serve with my talents, be that CEO who is out there making a difference not sitting my ass in an office expecting others to do it for me. That’s not what this is about. I was told as a child, when you own a business you work for it and you give back to the community. It’s also been a dream of mine to have my own agency where I could represent so many of my talented friends and family. Mel Creative Group is just that. I have focused on making this an agency to help other businesses to serve others to help them grow organically, make moneyyy (insert Cardi B voice here) and learn how to change the game of entrepreneurship. Think of Samantha Jones of “Sex and the City”, public relations to a whole new level of representation. 😉
And of course, what is my blog now without a little dosage of astrology talk. I’m sure most of you heard about the New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Capricorn. If you haven’t caught up with the moon phases, check my friend out over at BloodMoonMilk. Capricorn is a hard sign to define, according to my sister “it’s a really boring sign.” (mind you we’re both raised by a Capricorn father…LOL sorry dad.) I laughed and began to think what makes this sign so boring? It’s the sign of social responsibilities ruled by Saturn who is the plant of limitation, compression and trails of life experience. I’m sure some of us has heard the term “Saturn’s return”? Well like the Moon, Saturn moves into a sign every two and half years in each sign, this year it’s been in Capricorn since December 2017 and will stay in Capricorn till March 2020. Most of my friends and those who are 27-30 (roughly) we’ve got our saturn return right now, making us grow up, stop eating shit, and seriously pay attention to real priorities in life.
How’s the new year treating y’all so far? Is there something you’ve been wanting to do that you’ve stopped yourself because of fear? Let’s talk, as always till next time kiddies!
